Medical Assistant - CMA / MA

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support and facilitating patient flow within the healthcare setting. This role involves assisting providers with patient care, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient rooming, including vital signs, history-taking, and preparing patients for examinations.
• Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic lab tests as needed.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members regarding patient status and concerns.
• Support administrative functions such as check-in, appointment scheduling, and supply management.
• Assist with other clinical duties, including phlebotomy, X-ray operation (if certified), and prior authorizations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or certified as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
