Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Rotating 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Med-Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring at a 4:1 patient ratio
• Manage complex patient populations including stable and weaning ventilator/trach patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Administer and monitor insulin drips and manage colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, and primary patient care responsibilities
• Float to higher-acuity inpatient units as needed across the facility
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications including WI RN License, BLS, and ACLS
• Adhere to facility infection control policies, including masking requirements during flu season if vaccination is declined

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required — no exceptions
• Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change in a fast-paced environment
