ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greeting each customer quickly and with a cheerful happy voice.

• Provide customers with information and knowledge they need to make choices about their pet’s care.

• Answer calls on a multi-line system effectively and quickly, keeping hold times to a minimum.

• When taking messages for doctors, anticipate what information the doctor may need

• Take the initiative to be helpful to other team members and customers

• Prepare for the next day by generating consent forms and calling appointments for reminders

• Check in patients for outpatient and inpatient appointments

• Check out patients after appointments and when they purchase medications and/or food

• Completing refill requests

• Complete all tasks before leaving at the end of your shift.

• Keeping your work area clean and organized

• Have knowledge of basic medications we sell, and current specials/rebates

• Strive for customer service excellence

• Any other tasks assigned

• Be knowledgeable of vaccines and vaccine protocols

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma, 1 year experience in a veterinary clinic preferred, customer service experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Time management skills, good oral and written communication skills, basic animal care, basic veterinary terminology, knowledge of common vaccines and vaccine protocols, initiate to work effectively without direct supervision, basic computer skills.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Ability to lift to 30 lbs

We have a graduated level training program in place to insure all employees are trained and can pass a written quiz prior to graduating to the next training level. Pay and raises are dependent on the ability to learn, retain what you learn, and how hard you work and progress through the training program. Although previous experience may be factored in when giving you a starting wage, all new hires will begin on level 1 and work up through the levels. New hires without any experience in the vet clinic setting can expect to start out at minimum wage, with a review at six weeks.

Availability Requirements - FULL TIME PERMANANT AVAILABILITY
Must have flexible schedule, available as early as 7:30am any day and as late as 7pm on Wednesdays (5:30pm rest of week). No weekends. Minimum 35 hours per week, up to 40 hours per week. Set schedule after training period of 5-6 weeks. This is not a seasonal position, but year-round permanant. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE THE TIMES LISTED ABOVE.
