Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations and clinical services

• Support the 24-hour oversight of nursing services within the facility

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations, policies, and procedures

• Coordinate and monitor resident care plans in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to nursing personnel

• Participate in admissions assessments and admission decisions as needed

• Monitor quality measures, infection prevention efforts, and clinical outcomes

• Assist with staff development, education, and performance management

• Participate in management meetings to discuss resident care, census, staffing, and operational initiatives

• Promote a culture of compassion, accountability, teamwork, and excellence

• Serve as nursing leadership in the absence of the Director of Nursing

Qualifications

• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory or leadership experience

• Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation, or Healthcare Management experience preferred

• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical assessment skills

• Knowledge of state and federal nursing regulations

• Ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive quality outcomes
