Job Title: Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Electrical Designer or Mechanical Designer – Traction Power Systems Location: Washington, DC (On-Site) Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire Travel Requirement: Approximately 25% (Domestic & International) Compensation: Based on Experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead and oversee customer projects related to traction power substations and electrical infrastructure systems across North America. This role is responsible for managing projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise, electrical infrastructure knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and international manufacturing partners. Key Responsibilities Manage all phases of customer projects including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and project closeout. Lead traction power substation and electrical infrastructure projects throughout North America. Ensure project deliverables meet contractual requirements regarding scope, cost, schedule, quality, and performance. Coordinate engineering, design reviews, shop drawings, submittals, approvals, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and final delivery. Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and international manufacturing facilities to ensure project success. Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, and resource allocation. Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle. Review and manage project contracts, commercial terms, and contractual obligations. Facilitate problem-solving and implement corrective actions when required. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Prepare project status reports and provide updates to management and customers. Support warranty-related activities and project closeout processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in the electrical industry, including: Power Distribution Renewable Energy Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Electrical Machinery Railway Systems Traction Power Systems Alternatively, 5+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Electrical Designer, or Mechanical Designer within a traction power or electrical infrastructure environment. Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and contract administration. Experience reviewing and managing shop drawing submittals and approval processes. Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications PMP Certification preferred. Formal Project Management training from an accredited institution. Experience in traction power systems, railway electrification, electrical substations, or utility infrastructure. Knowledge of electrical equipment manufacturing and commissioning processes. Understanding of contract language, terms, conditions, and commercial project execution. Experience managing international project teams and suppliers. Additional Requirements Must be authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship. Valid U.S. Passport required. Ability to travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally. Willingness to participate in initial international training.
