Job Summary And Qualifications The Speech Language Pathologist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Language Pathologist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Language Pathologist serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues. What you will do in this role You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech and language abilities during spontaneous conversation and administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities. You will structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities. You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress. You will document progress in patient’s chart, completing notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication. You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Speech Pathologist licensure. Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
