As a Phlebotomist, you will play an essential role in collecting and processing laboratory specimens, ensuring accuracy throughout the pre-analytical process, and partnering with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing timely, high-quality patient care. A typical day for a Phlebotomist may include: Collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from both inpatient and outpatient populations using established phlebotomy techniques. Accurately identifying, labeling, processing, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while maintaining specimen integrity. Ensuring all specimens are handled according to laboratory standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Providing compassionate, professional patient interactions while helping patients feel comfortable throughout the specimen collection process. Verifying patient identification and following established procedures to promote patient safety and accurate testing. Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring timely transport of specimens to the laboratory for analysis. Collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, laboratory staff, and other members of the healthcare team to support efficient patient care. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following infection prevention practices, safety guidelines, and organizational policies. To be considered for this Phlebotomist opportunity you must: Be passionate about delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate specimen collection services that support high-quality patient care. High school diploma or GED required. Successfully completed an accredited phlebotomy training program. A minimum of (1) one year of previous phlebotomy experience is required. Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team are essential.
