Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description / Role and Responsibilities Join a premier aerospace systems group to develop and test mission-critical software for advanced power distribution and flight actuation systems. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design high-priority programs that ensure the safety and precision of modern flight technology. This role focuses on the full software development lifecycle, emphasizing DO-178C compliance and robust system integration. Design and implement complex embedded software architectures for power and actuation systems. Develop efficient, maintainable code using C and C++ for real-time applications. Execute comprehensive software verification and validation plans, including unit and integration testing. Coordinate with hardware and systems engineers to ensure seamless software compatibility and system performance. Analyze and debug embedded systems using JTAG, emulators, and advanced profiling techniques. Maintain technical documentation and configuration management in alignment with rigorous aerospace standards. Perform code reviews and coverage analysis to ensure adherence to MISRA C and safety protocols.
Requirements Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. 2–7+ years of experience in embedded software development within a formal SDLC environment. Expertise in C for embedded applications; familiarity with C#, Python, and assembly language is a plus. Proven experience with aerospace industry standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, or ARP475A. Proficiency with microcontrollers, DSPs, and debugging tools like JTAG, Coverity, or LDRA. Strong understanding of software architecture, code optimization, and hardware-software integration. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Comfortable working in both professional office and manufacturing/laboratory environments.
