About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Active Compact or State license required Certifications: BLS required ACLS preferred NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience required Experience with patient ratio of 1:4-5 required Description: Please ensure traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, the unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility during emergency events or be part of the relief team. Specific details regarding pay for each emergency event will be communicated. By signing the travel contract, you accept the above conditions and agree to report as assigned by your unit manager during an emergency event. You should not apply for this role if you are uncomfortable with the above. Holiday availability: Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually. Designated holidays include Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Some units may require coverage for Halloween, although it is not a paid holiday. Holiday assignments will depend on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Common patient diagnoses include: Heart failure Chest pain Hypertension Stroke Arrhythmia Dysrhythmias LVAD Post-operative CABG Post-operative MVR DKA Special procedures and unit details: Chest tubes IV drips Post EP procedures Post cath lab Additional unit information: Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams. Candidate requirements: No local travelers accepted; must reside over 65 miles from the facility. References are not required for submission but will be needed to clear for the start of the contract. PDF format of certifications is required. NURSYS Reports for RNs must be sent with profile and kept up to date. Resources who worked as permanent staff or agency contractors must be separated from the organization for 1 full year before they can return.
