Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will work with cross disciplinary teams to improve quality and productivity targets through quality assurance planning and continual improvement initiatives. Daily support will include technical problem solving, quality system implementation and auditing, new product launch management and internal/external supplier corrective actions. This position reports to the site Quality Manager.What You Will Do:Solves or directs efforts to solve complex product quality and process related problems.Acts as voice of customer through new product development projects.Recommends internal or vendor design, manufacturing and quality control changes to improve quality and reliability.Gather and analyze product and process data for reporting of improvement items.Develops and applies quality analysis tools, as applicable, for effective root cause analysis and correction action methods.Scope of work includes interaction with external suppliers, operations, manufacturing systems, design, marketing, customer care, and end users.Develops and maintains quality related documentation including process maps, PFMEA, control plans, standard operating procedures, etc.May occasionally support end-user problem solving visitsServe as subject matter expert and internal auditor for ISO9001 based quality systemInterface on regular basis with on-site and remote design/engineering functionsLimited supervisor duties as projects dictateOther duties as assignedWhat You Need to Succeed:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field required3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience of increasing responsibility in the areas of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality Management, or related field, including at least 2 years of direct manufacturing, in plant experienceDemonstrated program management experience and in-depth process improvement and problem solving experience (including expertise with tools and processes such as APQP, Lean, Six Sigma, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, VAVE, etc.)Use of standard measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, scale, height gage, etc.)Lead auditor or competence within ISO-9001/TS-16949/AS 9100 quality systemsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and statistical softwareDemonstrated ability to effectively interact and influence in a matrix organizationActive knowledge of high volume manufacturing, assembly and distributionFluent in English (spoken and written); Bilingual considered a strong assetMinimal travelThis position is on-site and will report to the site Quality Manager.Why Work for Us?Allegion is a Great Place to Grow your Career if:You're seeking a rewarding opportunity that allows you to truly help others.?
