Quality EngineerKamatatics is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for supporting manufacturing and quality initiatives through process monitoring, root cause investigation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities. This role will define methods, equipment, and gauging necessary to measure key process parameters and customer requirements while utilizing statistical tools and data analysis techniques to improve quality, reduce variation, and minimize waste.The Quality Engineer will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to investigate non-conformances, implement corrective actions, and improve overall process effectiveness. We take pride in engineering excellence, collaborative problem solving, and a culture built on innovation and customer trust.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead root cause investigations related to internal and external non-conformances utilizing methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, DOE, and similar problem-solving toolsFacilitate meetings and workshops to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and implement preventive measuresPartner with Manufacturing Engineers and Operations teams to develop and implement effective corrective actions and mistake-proofing solutionsUtilize statistical tools such as SPC and data analysis techniques to monitor process capability, variation, scrap, and rework trendsProactively identify opportunities for process improvement to reduce waste, improve quality, and prevent escapesDefine and maintain methods, gauging, and inspection processes required to monitor key process parameters and customer requirementsUpdate work instructions and provide training to operators and inspectors on process requirements and quality expectationsPerform routine audits and monitor process compliance to ensure standards and requirements are consistently metSupport continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing and 5S activitiesMaintain accurate documentation and communicate findings, trends, and recommendations effectively through verbal, written, and electronic communicationMaintain a clean and safe work environment while following all safety and environmental proceduresProvide a high level of service and support to internal and external customersPerform other duties and cross-functional support activities as assignedQualificationsEducation & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing quality or engineering environmentSkills:Prior experience in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment preferredWorking knowledge of CNC machining, multi-axis machines, grinders, lathes, milling machines, and related manufacturing equipment preferredExperience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologiesStrong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methodologies preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting/documentation toolsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 40 poundsFrequent walking and standingOccasional sittingBenefits:At Kamatics, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
