Location 8865 Natural Bridge Road,Saint Louis, MO, 63121,United States Base Pay $48,000.00 / Year Job Category Client Services, Social Services, Public Housing Industry Housing Administration, Cuntomer Service, Client Management Relocation Expense Covered No Employee Type Non Exempt FT Required Degree High school Manage Others No PRINCIPAL ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Team Lead and the Director of Housing Choice Voucher, the Housing Program Specialist is responsible for collecting, processing, and verifying documentation and credentials for clients and property owners in support of Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) operations. The Housing Program Specialist provides customer service and program support in person, via email, and through written correspondence. This position regularly works with and communicates with individuals from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds. Supervisory Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities Document family composition, citizenship, and annual income in accordance with HUD requirements. Verify the eligibility of applicants from the waiting lists, special admissions, and port-ins. Prepares all required forms and correspondence as they relate to housing functions. Complete data entry on all assigned cases in accordance with the HUD regulations. Investigate and resolve participant and property owner complaints to the satisfaction of all parties. Creates and maintains files in accordance with the Administrative Plan procedures for applicants, program participants, and owners. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities Excellent communication skills, including writing and active listening. Service-oriented and able to resolve client grievances. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Ability to maintain confidential information. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required, OR An equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Proficient user of Excel and ability to use various computer systems and programs accurately and efficiently. Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner, both written and verbal form. Must work independently with little supervision to include motivating oneself, managing time, and prioritizing as needed. Ability to work flexible and longer hours during busy seasons. Maintain confidentiality of client and organization data and high standards of integrity. Physical Requirements The Housing Program Specialist will spend most of the time in the office and could involve intermittent physical activities, including bending, reaching, sitting, and walking during working hours, and must be able to lift at least twenty pounds. Additionally, this person will spend several hours each day sitting at a PC. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable persons with physical disabilities to perform the job.
