Senior Accountant

Expanding Charlotte corporate office is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance and accounting team. You will be instrumental in driving accurate financial reporting, leading month-end close activities, improving processes, and delivering meaningful financial insights that support key business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations
• Prepare reports (monthly, quarterly, annually, and ad hoc) timely and accurately
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses
• Monitor and improve accounting processes and procedures
• Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy
• Collaborate with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 3+ years of general accounting experience
• Excellent time management, organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Requires excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft and Excel
