Staffing Coordinator

Staffing Coordinator – Day Shift (United States) Employment type: Full Time – Days. Compensation: Starting at $20.94 per hour. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (40hours per week). Department: Sub‑Acute Rehab Unit. Benefits Annual Merit Increases Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision PTO Holiday Pay PSLF Eligible Tuition Reimbursement The Staffing Coordinator works with the Nursing Leadership Team to develop and maintain fiscally conscious nursing schedules, manage payroll activities, analyze staff utilization reports, and monitor financial performance in the nursing department. The role includes active participation in quality improvement initiatives and compliance with accreditation regulations. Job Responsibilities Staffing / Scheduling – Develop staff schedules at least four weeks in advance, collaborate with the Nursing Leadership Team on staffing needs, identify staffing gaps based on census, acuity, and skill mix, keep records of absenteeism and tardiness, and incorporate vacation and continuing‑education requests into schedules. Provide necessary data for Employee Change Forms. Quality Improvement – Work with the Nursing Leadership Team to develop action plans for staffing effectiveness and patient safety projects, conduct QI surveys, compile QI data, and contribute to meetings and problem‑solving efforts. Monitoring Financial Performance – Process staff time for payroll, produce bi‑weekly reports on overtime and incentives, analyze FTE utilization trends, review financial information with the Nursing Leadership Team, and propose operational efficiencies. Job Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other computer applications. At least 2 years of scheduling/staffing experience preferred. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Detail‑oriented and able to analyze complex situations to determine appropriate actions. Highly independent, able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a high‑volume environment. Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality. Physical Requirements No specific requirements. Occasionally remain in a stationary position; occasionally traverse or move around work location; frequently use keyboard; no use of department specific equipment; no need to ascend/descend equipment or ladder.
