Behavioral Health Operations Manager

The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of behavioral health programs across the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, supporting new leadership onboarding and training, ensuring quality improvement (QI) efforts are implemented, monitoring program data, and stepping in to provide interim leadership coverage during vacancies.

We are looking for a Regional Operations Manager who must have

• Master’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field required
• At least five (5) years of experience in behavioral health or human services, including a minimum of 2 years in leadership or operational role
• Experience collaborating with Medicaid, managed care organizations, and government-funded programs. Familiarity with CARF, Joint Commission, or other accreditation standards is preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license, ability to use personal vehicle for work purposes, and appropriate vehicle insurance

Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Serve as interim program leadership during vacancies to ensure continuity of care and operations.
• Partner with program directors to identify and address operational inefficiencies or gaps.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new program leaders.
• Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to new or developing leaders across the behavioral health program.
• Work in collaboration with the QI team to review program performance indicators and implement improvement strategies.
• Monitor program data dashboards and assist teams in using data to drive performance and service outcomes.
• Participate in internal audits and ensure timely follow-up on corrective action plans.
• Lead cross-functional workgroups and initiatives to support strategic priorities, service enhancements, and organizational change.
• Collaborate with internal team members to ensure smooth implementation of new programs, systems, and processes.
• Act as a change champion to support teams through transitions, aligning operations with evolving agency goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Essentials:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of behavioral health programs to ensure alignment with organization standards, funder requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration of services and systems.
• Serve as a liaison between program teams and senior leadership to escalate challenges and identify solutions.
• Facilitate regular operational and compliance-focused training for program leadership and supervisory staff.
• Stay informed of industry’s best practices and incorporate them into training and operational protocols.
• Develop and deliver leadership training focused on program operations, compliance, documentation, and supervision best practices.
