Senior Safety Specialist

The Senior Safety Specialist will plan, organize, and supervise the day-to-day operations to identify, evaluate and assess probability and severity of losses. Implement safety programs and communicate to ensure compliance with such programs. This position will ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulatory standards which will include minimal environmental responsibilities to support site environmental compliance. Primary Responsibilities Health, Safety, and Environment Monitor and review performance against environmental, health, safety, and security (EHSS) key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility. Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organization’s HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions . Information and Business Advice Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving queries and issues and referring very complex or contentious issues to others. Regulatory and Compliance Management Investigate all kinds of incidents and reports and provide expert advice to more senior colleagues. Minimize risk exposures and ensure adherence with regulatory standards by working with all internal functions to make sure compliance programs are properly implemented. Internal Communications Execute a communications plan within established internal communication systems and procedures. Document Management Support a global, company-wide document management system and ensure compliance with it. Audit Compliance Manage a portfolio of audit assignments. Ensure that the team plans and delivers audits that cover identified risk areas, and that appropriate corrective actions are agreed on with auditors. Resolve issues arising from audits and refer serious or contentious issues to the audit program leader. Insights and Reporting Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports. Safety Training Development and Delivery Deliver training courses or programs, engaging, advising, and guiding learners and evaluating the achievement of intended learning outcomes. Qualifications High School Diploma required, bachelor's degree in safety management or technically related field preferred. Will consider experience in lieu of degree. Experience with manufacturing principles and processes such as TPM, WCM, Lean, 6-Sigma, and 5S preferred. Must be willing to be on call and respond to on-site incidents or accidents outside of normal work hours. Experience Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised; 5 Years safety responsibility experience in a manufacturing environment Additional information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with a pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: The compensation range that is described below is the possible base pay compensation that the company believes in good faith that it will pay for this role at the time of posting based on job grade for the position. Individual compensation within this range is based on many factors such as years of experience etc. so the company might pay more or less than the posted range and it is understood that this range may be modified in the future.
