You will work with a team of dedicated HR professionals, ensuring the HR department’s operations are running efficiently and effectively to deliver maximum value to the Department of Social Services (DSS). What You’ll Do The primary responsibilities of this position include: Serving as the DSS Workers’ Compensation Coordinator Serving as the DSS ShareLeave Chair Administering workplace programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Assisting the Human Resources Manager with the overall planning, development, and administration of human resource functions within the DSS IT division. Participating in the development, interpretation, and application of agency programs, policies and procedures related to state and federal laws and other relevant legal considerations. Provides oversight of all personnel actions, and direct supervision of a Human Resources Generalist. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed). Preferred Qualifications The person in this position must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment that will require a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, organizational and analytical skills, as well as the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality are a must. Knowledge of, or experience with the State of Missouri’s organizational structure and workers’ compensation program, the principles and practices of human resources, and personnel administration concepts is preferred.
