Merck's Research and Development Division in Rahway, NJ is hiring an undergraduate intern for a 12-week summer position in Discovery Sample Management Analytical Chemistry. The role offers hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, method development, and exposure to drug discovery workflows across small- and large-molecule research.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to analytical and physical chemistry method development projects within a multidisciplinary team
- Engage with advanced instrumentation for process characterization, molecular analysis, and drug substance property determination
- Participate in departmental and team meetings to understand drug discovery and development processes
- Work with specialized groups in sample management, high-throughput analysis, and molecular characterization
Requirements
- Currently pursuing bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical science
- Completed at least two years of bachelor's degree studies by June 2027
- Available to work on-site full-time for up to 12 consecutive weeks starting May or June 2027
- Basic laboratory skills and research experience preferred
- Experience with HPLC, HPLC-MS, GC, GC-MS, SFC or similar chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques preferred
Compensation: $39,108-$111,111
