2027 Future Talent Program - Biostatistics - Intern

Merck is seeking graduate students in Statistics or Biostatistics for a 12-week full-time summer internship within the BARDS department. Interns will perform statistical analyses supporting drug discovery, clinical development, and regulatory activities alongside experienced pharmaceutical statisticians.
Responsibilities
- Conduct statistical analyses on data from preclinical or clinical research projects
- Support drug discovery, development, and regulatory approval processes
- Collaborate with experienced statisticians on biomarker development and pharmacogenomics studies
- Contribute to AI/ML methodological research and health technology assessments
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in MS or PhD program in Statistics or Biostatistics
- Completed at least two semesters of graduate coursework by May 2027
- Available for full-time work for 12 consecutive weeks starting May or June 2027
- Proficient in SAS, S-Plus, and/or R programming
- Strong oral and written communication skills
