Quality Manager

Position Summary Reports directly to the Plant Manager. The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development and administration of quality resources within the Huntington, Indiana plant. The role allocates resources to project teams and programs, correlates with customers, suppliers, corporate, and plant employees, establishes and reviews process controls, ensures customer satisfaction, emphasizes continuous improvement practices, and drives waste reduction. Measurement systems and inspection techniques are developed and maintained to advance Quality Department goals and objectives, monitored and reported through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The Quality Manager also directs activities to maintain third‑party registration to IATF and ISO standards, participates in management review, and oversees document and data control. Essential Job Functions Support plant safety procedures and safety policies Conduct daily safety audits to ensure employee safety Establish and track quality department goals and objectives (KPIs) Determine quality department standards, practices, and procedures Ensure compliance to quality standards Track external customer quality rejections and internal quality concerns Track supplier quality issues and performance Direct lab personnel regarding performance and material testing Assist in daily review of production quality performance Assist production and maintenance to achieve effective and efficient production of quality parts Schedule and chair regular quality review meetings to appraise management of quality issues and ensure suitability and effectiveness of the quality system Work with engineering to develop project launch strategy, capital needs, and program timing in support of all APQP, PPAP, MSA and ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements Work with quality engineers and technicians to document trends in quality, compare against customer standards and plant goals Support advanced quality activities, elements, and schedules Represent Conneaut plant at the customer in the area of quality Develop short‑ and long‑term strategy to support customer requirements, as required Manage safety as an equal to other key functions Monitor departmental action items to ensure timely and effective correction of issues Deliverables Department and assigned plant KPIs Plant‑level monthly quality report to corporate quality Overall quality department goals and plan Employee training, development plan and status report Annual employee performance reviews Customer issues and corrective actions logs Process alert and nonconformance records Rejection logs Qualifications Requires a BS degree from a credited college, university, or technical school. Ten years related experience and/or training in quality supervision or manufacturing.
