Aircraft Avionics Tech III

OVERVIEW The Avionics Technician III is an entry-level position ideal for new graduates from Avionics or A&P technology schools, and mechanics with less than five years of aircraft experience. Our Step-Level Progression training program can help you acquire your FAA airframe license. WORK LOCATION Onsite at AAR (at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, OK). SCHEDULE Full-Time/non-exempt variable, 40 – 50-hour workweek. Shift schedule as follows.

1. st Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm or 5:30am to 4:00pm
2. nd Shift: 3:30pm to 12:00am or 3:30pm to 2:00am

Supervisor determines shifts; discussion possible during interview; more flexible candidates preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform basic aircraft maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks under supervision. Ensure aircraft are safely maintained in accordance with airworthiness standards. Use FAA approved/accepted data (IPC, M/M, OHM, SRM) proficiently. Maintain records in compliance with FAA and company requirements. Perform avionics repairs as assigned while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Read and follow technical publications, schematics, and/or mechanical drawings. Use PC, iPad, and basic computer applications and programs. Complete additional job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Adhere to work schedule, punctuality, and self‑motivation. PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of avionics experience required. Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Some general maintenance experience (including relevant experience outside aviation). Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to skillfully use minimum tools required. Fluent in English (speech, reading, writing). PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license (A&P). Valid Driver’s License. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Constantly: Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions. Frequently: Lifting ≤40 lbs., push/pull Working above chest‑level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near 20’, and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights ≥4’, working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts.
