Location: Macon, Georgia Base Salary: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience Benefits: Fully paid benefits package

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant with strong Excel skills to support accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys analyzing financial data, taking ownership of reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Use Excel to organize financial data, perform reconciliations, and analyze account activity.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Analyze financial results and explain variances.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Prepare documentation for audits and other financial reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and accuracy.
• Assist with additional accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Relevant accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills , including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas used for financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary of $70,000–$85,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
