Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Manager to lead our software development initiatives at BASF. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Delivery Management, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record in managing software development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage software development projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Oversee the delivery management process, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting on project progress.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Implement best practices in software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.
- Mentor and guide software development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive communication with stakeholders.
- Manage resource allocation and team performance, ensuring optimal utilization of skills and capabilities.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience in Delivery Management within a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services.
- Experience in managing remote or distributed teams.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) are a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in software development and project management.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
