Overview At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X‑Ray Technologists provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The X‑Ray Tech will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge and communicating effectively with team members. Responsibilities Ability to fulfill all responsibilities as a Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist as detailed in the specific job description. Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Monitor and track x‑ray orders to ensure timely completion and submission. Assist patients with proper positioning during the exam to ensure diagnostic quality. Ensure activities comply with federal and state regulations, guidelines, and requirements, including HIPAA. Review exam images for initial read by provider. Send final images to Radiology group for over‑read. Correctly label laterality of all images using an initialed lead marker. Confirm no removable artifacts are in the requested anatomy and ensure appropriate technique (“S” number) is used. Artifacts must be documented with a solid explanation. Address minor maintenance issues with machines and follow up with nurse coordinator or Clinic Director for outsourcing calls. Monitor cassette and equipment condition for wear or malfunction and report problems promptly to Imaging Director. Maintain cleanliness of cassettes, chest bucky, and exam tables to avoid cross‑contamination. Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable. Triage patients by checking vitals, collecting clinical history, and recording chart information. Perform blood draws, give injections, administer oral medications, and perform other basic nursing tasks when not directly involved in an x‑ray exam. Monitor and read X‑Ray badge monthly. Wearing radiation monitors at all times in the X‑Ray room and maintaining required reporting. Complete all mandatory compliance training. Welcome new employees on their first day and facilitate introductions, clinic tours, and an overview of clinic processes. Assist new employees with learning activities and required training. Provide job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching opportunities for new hires. Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees and clients, creating a positive work atmosphere. Perform the physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions required for the position. Adhere to company standards of operations. Experience Requirements and Preferences Current License or Certification: ARRT License (Registered Technologist) State License (Registered Technologist and Limited Scope) License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable with the proper regulatory agency. TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable. Additional Requirements and Responsibilities – Full Scope X‑Ray Only Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and at least 1 year of experience as a certified RT(R) or limited scope x‑ray tech in a clinic setting, preferably urgent care. Level 2: Certified RTR with current CPR license and over 1 year, but less than 3 years of direct patient care as an RTR. Level 3: Certified RTR with current CPR license and over 3 years, but less than 7 years of direct patient care as an RTR. Level 4: Certified RTR with current CPR license and over 7 years of direct patient care as an RTR. Level 5: Certified RTR with current CPR license and over 7 years of direct patient care as an RTR. Additional Responsibilities for Levels 2–5: Work with increased X‑Ray volume (12+ per day). Establish full grasp of ortho‑glass techniques for splinting or casting; stabilize patients with fractures before leaving the clinic as applicable in your state. Conduct ultrasound procedures. Additional experience: extra training in bracing and specific fitting. Additional Responsibilities for Level 5: Administration duties, including but not limited to scheduling, ordering, training, and other duties assigned by Clinic or Regional Director. Additional Requirements and Responsibilities – LSRT X‑Ray (Applicable to states requiring LSRT licensure) Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and at least 1 year of experience as a certified Limited Scope in clinic setting, preferably urgent care. Level 2: Certified Limited Scope with current CPR license and over 1 year, but less than 3 years of direct patient care. Level 3: Certified Limited Scope with current CPR license and over 3 years, but less than 7 years of direct patient care. Level 4: Certified Limited Scope with current CPR license and over 7 years of direct patient care. Level 5: Certified Limited Scope with current CPR license and over 7 years of direct patient care. Additional Responsibilities for Levels 2–5: Work with increased X‑Ray volume (12+ per day).
