Litigation Legal Assistant

Overview Leff Law firm is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Litigation Legal Assistant to join our firm. This position provides direct support to our litigation attorneys in a fast-paced practice. The ideal candidate enjoys managing multiple priorities, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and is committed to providing exceptional client service. Responsibilities The Litigation Legal Assistant will assist with all aspects of litigation, including: Preparing, proofreading, and formatting legal pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents. Electronic filing in Iowa state and federal courts. Maintaining attorney calendars, scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings. Managing litigation deadlines and ensuring compliance with court rules. Opening and maintaining client files. Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts. Drafting routine correspondence and legal forms. Organizing discovery materials and trial exhibits. Assisting attorneys in preparation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trial. Managing incoming mail, emails, and telephone calls. Performing other administrative and litigation support duties as assigned. Qualifications Successful candidates will possess: Prior experience as a legal assistant, litigation assistant, or paralegal preferred but not required. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat). Experience with electronic filing systems and legal case management software is a plus. Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to client service.
