Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist (Lab Tech) – Full-time – $17.46 per hour – Trinity Health Livingston in Brighton, MI; Bryon Rd Lab in Howell. Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy, specimen receipt, processing, specimens distribution, computer order entry and/or requisition completion, and other pre-analytical tasks as required. Track specimens through appropriate computer functions to ensure accurate and timely routing. Ensure complete and accurate patient samples, demographics, and diagnosis codes are provided and submit to the laboratory for testing. Collect samples including venipuncture blood draws, capillary puncture, infant heel sticks, and urine collections, using proper patient identification and customer‑service skills. Understand laboratory requisitions and locate missing or incomplete information. Complete specimen handling and processing, including centrifugation of vacutainers and aliquoting/pouring over specimens. Adjust the pH of 24‑hour urine specimens as required by location. Follow test cancellation policy and complete follow‑up tasks as needed. Locate specimens for add‑on testing. Maintain minimum supply levels and keep the workstation and section clean. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of phlebotomy, medical assistant, or patient care technician training. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred; formal training and certification as a phlebotomist is not required but highly desired.
