Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Illinois, welcoming first-time travelers with at least 1 year of ED experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
• Treats all patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient presentations include the full spectrum of ED diagnoses including CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, near drowning, and all standard emergency conditions
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12 schedule)
• Every third weekend required
• Medication dispensing via Pyxis
• Documentation via MediTech EMR
• Communication via Vocera system
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Experience in a combined adult/pediatric ED required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care/management, and phlebotomy
• Skilled in IV insertion, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressor administration, and procedural sedation
• Experience with ABG interpretation and isolation precautions

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO for the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
