Job Family Group:FacultyTime Type:Part timeDepartment/Office:Sports ManagementExemption Status:ExemptJob Description:Trinity University is seeking a Part-Time Faculty for the Fall 2026 semester to teach the following course(s):SPMT-1412-2: Sport in SocietyDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTypical responsibilities of part-time faculty members include but are not limited to:Developing the course syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets departmental and University standardsDesigning and delivering lectures, discussions, in-class activities, and assignmentsGrading assigned papers, quizzes, and examsAssigning early, midterm, and final grades in compliance with University deadlinesMaintaining office hours as directed by the department chair or program directorMaking student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility ServicesAdhering to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Courses of Study BulletinAPPOINTMENT DETAILSThis is a one semester appointment beginning August 2026 and is non-renewable.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONRequired: Master’s degree in Sport Management, Sociology, Management, or related field.Preferred: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Sport Management, Sociology, or related field.EXPERIENCERequired:Demonstrated commitment to Trinity’s value of intentional inclusionEvidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate levelExperience teaching related sport management coursesPreferred:Experience teaching sport sociology coursesKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:Mastery of the relevant subject matterAbility to deliver engaging lectures, discussions, or in-class activitiesAbility to design rigorous and meaningful assignmentsCommitment to the liberal arts mission of Trinity UniversityPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSAll work is completed in a Trinity classroom and with rare exceptions, all classes are taught in person.ATTENDANCEOn-site and in person teaching is required and expected. The class meets two days a week.
