Estate Host/ Support Staff

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tolosa Winery is seeking passionate, guest-focused Tasting Room Team Members to join our estate team. Depending on your assignment, you may serve as an Estate Host, guiding tastings, driving wine club engagement, and delivering luxury sales experiences, or as Support Staff (Barback, Greeter, Host), providing the operational backbone that keeps our tasting room running seamlessly.

Estate Host

- Greet guests warmly and deliver guided tasting experiences that reflect the Tolosa brand
- Drive luxury sales and build long-term consumer loyalty and retention
- Engage guests around Wine Club benefits and actively promote memberships
- Share winery history and wine knowledge in an approachable, enthusiastic manner
- Utilize POS systems (Wine Direct preferred) for sales and guest data management
- Set up and manage guest experiences in TOCK; update contact data as needed
- Provide information about the wine club, shipping, and upcoming events
- Write Daily DTC Sales Reports as needed
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including securing the property at the end of the shift

Support Staff (Barback, Greeter, Host)

- Serve as a warm first impression and gracious gatekeeper for all guests
- Answer incoming calls, make reservations, and provide general winery information
- Stock refrigerating units and private tasting rooms with wine, water, and supplies
- Clean and polish glassware; sanitize tables and seats between guests
- Ensure adequate supplies of glassware, bags, cups, trays, napkins, and garbage bags
- Assist guests with wine club pickups and POS transactions
- Support Wine Club and Shipping departments during club processing season
- Assist Estate Hosts and tasting room staff throughout the day

All Team Members

- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
- Work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as required
- Collaborate cross-departmentally and contribute to a cohesive tasting room team
- Follow all daily operating procedures and Tolosa service standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, including holiday weekends
- Prior tasting room or wine experience preferred
- Experience selling luxury products a plus (Estate Host candidates)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage changing priorities with enthusiasm and flexibility
- Committed to a positive, collaborative team environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to stand and walk for 8-12 hours per shift
- Continuous bending, kneeling, and squatting throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry a case of wine (approximately 40 lbs)
