Registered Nurse

Position: School Nurse
Days/Hours: as designated by the school. - Days: 187-day position (new teachers 190-day position)
Approximately 120 students all ages 3-5
48 % of students have an IEP with significant needs
Large team of service providers employed at the school: special education, mental health, SLP, OT.

Job Duties:

• Nurse will have a private office.
• Main duties are supporting training and delegation for student health needs, supporting health plans and safety of students, participation in IEP process, responding to health calls for all students, vision/hearing and dental screenings, maintaining accuracy and compliance with student records.
• The nurse is legally responsible to train, delegate and supervise nursing procedures.
• Create individualized health care plans for students with health-related problems; interpret health and developmental information for parents, school personnel and students
• Delineate accommodations and/or modifications required for learning when indicated by health or developmental status of student
• Serve as a resource person and consultant to staff, students, families and community health providers.

Education and Licensure:

• Minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or three years of practical experience.
• Colorado Licensure as Registered Nurse
• Holds a Colorado special services provider license or is currently eligible for one with the appropriate endorsement for this position
• Current CPR certification
• 3 years of current clinical experience
• A completed Human Resources file including transcripts, student teaching verification, previous work experience.

The teacher shall identify the development needs of students, shall maintain a productive learning environment, and shall work collaboratively to support the priorities of the Strategic Plan.
