Dental HygienistAt River Run Dental Spa in Colonial Heights, VA, our team of dentists and hygienists do everything from dental cleanings to crowns to dentures to tooth extractions. Together we diagnose, treat, and manage our patients' overall oral healthcare needs. We focus on preventing oral disease whenever possible and pride ourselves on quality routine dental care.Position Summary:The dental hygienist is responsible for performing licensed hygiene procedures, educating patients, and management of the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist.Responsibilities:Establish and maintain continued patient care relationshipsVerify/document patient health history and educate patients about oral hygiene/health/disease as well as procedures and services offeredPerform clinical hygiene functions including but not limited to: exposing/evaluating diagnostic x-rays, taking and recording blood pressure, adult/child prophylaxis, non-surgical periodontal therapy, and co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the doctorDetermine needs and perform sealant placement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as neededQualifications:Dental hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene schoolCurrent hygiene license where employedMaintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection control training as required by lawExperience with dental softwareIn return for providing an excellent employee and patient experience, we offer a great benefits package to include health and dental benefits, 401(k), holiday pay and paid time off.
