We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our growing dental department as a Dental Hygienist. The Dental Hygienist provides direct patient care consistent with granted privileges and the IHCRC Mission, Vision, and Values.

Essential Job Functions

• Demonstrates clinical competency in the performance of scaling and root planning, dental prophylaxis, and the administration of local anesthetics.
• Examines teeth and gums for signs of disease, decay or pathology. Charts such conditions for further diagnosis and treatment by the dentist.
• Reviewing patient charts prior to appointment to ensure periodontal charting is up to date and appropriate procedure is planned. Consults with dentists as needed.
• Provides dental screenings, patient education, and community outreach as directed by supervisor.
• Works efficiently to ensure that patients are seated in a timely manner and maintains an appropriate patient load.
• Assists dental director with championing GPRA measures, AAAHC preparedness, and quality improvement.
• Follows safety procedures, utilizes protective equipment and maintains infection control protocols at all times.
• Always treats all patients and co-workers with good customer service and respect.

Required License, Certification, Education, Specialized Skills

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene.
• Valid and current Oklahoma Dental Hygiene license required.
• Local anesthetic certificate required.
• BLS or CPR certification
• Proficiency in obtaining vital signs
• Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with dental practice management software.
• Supports CQI efforts and other initiatives within the department as instructed by supervisor and administration.
• Participates in CE as required by the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry.
