This is a strong opportunity for a nursing leader who has hands‑on experience in behavioral health, psychiatric nursing, or addiction recovery and is ready to step into a highly visible leadership role. The right candidate will be a licensed RN with inpatient psychiatric experience and prior nursing leadership experience. This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace, complexity, and importance of behavioral health nursing and wants to help lead a team focused on safety, quality care, and compassionate patient support. What You Will Be Doing Work closely with nursing leadership to improve the quality of patient care and nursing services Support daily nursing operations within an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting Help ensure patient care is delivered safely, professionally, and in compliance with all applicable standards Assist with staffing needs, scheduling, resource utilization, and department workflow Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance support to nursing staff Help identify staff education needs and support training initiatives Respond to crisis situations and assist with incident review and follow‑up Support documentation standards and continuity of care processes Help develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality initiatives Serve as a leadership presence for the nursing team in the absence of the Director of Nursing Provide direct patient care as needed Promote a culture of safety, accountability, empathy, and professionalism Who This Role Is Best For This role is a strong fit for an RN leader who has worked in inpatient psychiatric care and understands what it takes to support both patients and staff in a behavioral health environment. Requirements Current RN license in the state of Michigan At least two years of registered nursing experience required Inpatient psychiatric RN experience required One or more years of behavioral health, psychiatric, addiction recovery, or related experience required One or more years of progressive nursing leadership or management experience required Prior experience as a nursing manager strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required CPR and de‑escalation/restraint certification required, with training available upon hire Strong communication, leadership, and staff development skills Ability to work fully on‑site in New Haven, Michigan Preferred Expertise Five or more years of RN experience Two or more years of behavioral health RN experience RN leadership experience in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting Experience working in a union hospital environment Strong understanding of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and behavioral health nursing operations $7,500 sign on bonus Relocation assistance available up to $10,000 for any out‑of‑state prospects Full‑time leadership opportunity Opportunity to lead within a specialized inpatient behavioral health setting #J-18808-Ljbffr McCulloh Consulting
