Our larger than home environment is the philosophy of Service Essentials: Greet every guest with a smile Use guest''s name at every opportunity Provide quick and efficient service Offer assistance and provide options Thank the guest and invite them back This position is responsible for the complete guest experience; to include the Gallery Host Stand, the Bakery Caf, the Guest Kitchen, the Assembly Kitchen, the e-room and the TV den, guest check in and out and the servicing of the meeting rooms. Previous guest service experience as well as the ability to communicate well with guests required, food and beverage experience is a plus. In addition to your Gallery Host duties, the Night Auditor will also be responsible for making all end of day postings, rolling the date, and reconciling and completing the daily reports encapsulating the days revenue for the management staff. This associate will also act as our Manager on Duty during their shift, a role that requires integrity and professionalism at all times. Qualifications: Customer service and cash handling experience is required Property Management System knowledge and expertise is essential to rolling up daily reporting Must have schedule flexibility for AM/PM/Overnight shifts, allowing weekends and holidays Requires proficiency in English and preferably Mandarin to include speaking, reading and writing Must be able to multi-task Must be 25 years or older due to hotel''s automobile-insurance policy and local alcohol serving laws Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced position with guest interaction A true desire to satisfy the needs of others High school diploma or equivalent required, accounting background is a plus Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight (maximum of 50 lbs) Must possess basic computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel, Internet Explorer, etc. Driver''s license and reliable transportation including a clean driving record are required. Familiarity with Flushing/Queens area streets and highways is a definite plus. Responsibilities and Job Functions: include, but are not limited to, the following: Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and philosophy of Hyatt Place. Displays dignity and respect of others at all times. Assist guest with check in and check out processes (verifying registration, address and credit information, balancing bank, posting charges). Go above and beyond to provide assistance, i.e., assist with luggage, coffee, directions, wake up calls, future reservations, etc. Courteously and efficiently provides information to guest and visitor inquiries; coordinates all guest requests for special arrangement of services; informs guests of hotel services, features and room amenities. Answer hotel telephones courteously and efficiently following Hyatt Place standards. Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean and provide quality beverages and food products consistently for all guests by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Be familiar and knowledgeable with the operation of the Point-of-Sale system. Assist guests with food orders and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. Uses suggestive selling techniques. Maintains a clean, organized environment for guests by clearing tables during service. Follow Hyatt Place operational policies and procedures, including those for cash and credit card handling, safety and security and all other policies, procedures and standards to ensure we can consistently exceed the guests'' expectations. Completion of Daily Revenue Reports nightly to break out the days revenue accurately for management and ownership. Is proficient (with adequate training)with basic engineering functions - e.g.: HVAC thermostat operation, fire panel functionality, SafLok operations, security system monitoring, etc. Driving our guests to and from LaGuardia Airport in our airport shuttle may also be part of this position, so a clean driving record is necessary.
