Location: Spanaway, WA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Pay Rate:  $22.25 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Overtime: Expected and required as needed

Position Overview

Simply Great Staffing is seeking an experienced  Order Picker for a valued client in Spanaway, WA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for dependable individuals who thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment and can accurately select, build, and prepare customer orders for shipment.

The ideal candidate will have recent warehouse order picking experience and be comfortable operating manual pallet jacks, electric walkie pallet jacks, and electric riding pallet jacks. This position is physically active and requires frequent lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, and walking throughout the shift. Duties include selecting products, building pallets, moving carts, wrapping pallets, and preparing orders for delivery. Candidates will regularly push, pull, and maneuver carts and palletized product throughout the warehouse.

Attendance and reliability are critical for success in this role. Candidates must have a strong attendance record and be willing to work required overtime to support daily workload, busy seasons, and customer order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick customer orders using pick sheets, scanners, or warehouse technology
• Build pallets and prepare orders for shipment
• Operate manual pallet jacks, electric walkie pallet jacks, and electric riding pallet jacks
• Push, pull, steer, and maneuver rolling carts throughout the warehouse
• Move products using carts, pallets, and pallet jacks
• Continually mount and dismount equipment while selecting products
• Load and unload products onto pallets, carts, trailers, and storage locations
• Apply stretch wrap to secure pallets for transport
• Verify product counts and ensure order accuracy
• Utilize RF scanners and warehouse technology to complete tasks
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance concerns
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, productivity, and accuracy
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Work overtime when required to meet operational demands

Qualifications

• Recent warehouse order picking experience required
• Experience operating electric riding pallet jacks strongly preferred
• Experience with walkie pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks preferred
• Previous distribution, warehouse, shipping, receiving, or fulfillment experience
• Ability to accurately select orders while maintaining productivity standards
• Familiarity with RF scanners or warehouse management systems preferred
• Reliable transportation and  excellent attendance record
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Forklift certification is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, squatting, and lifting
• Frequently lift and move products up to 50 pounds
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Ability to continually mount and dismount pallet jack equipment
• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver loaded carts and pallets throughout the warehouse
• Ability to work overtime as needed
