Forklift Operator (Sit-Down & Stand-Up) – Temp-to-Hire

Location: Spanaway, WA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Pay Rate:  $23.50 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Overtime: Expected and required as needed

Position Overview

Simply Great Staffing is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for a valued client in Spanaway, WA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a dependable and safety-conscious individual with recent experience operating both  sit-down and stand-up forklifts in a warehouse environment.

This position requires operating forklifts, pulling orders, and manually picking products. Candidates must be comfortable spending part of their shift on the forklift and part of their shift off the forklift retrieving products from pallets and storage locations to accurately fulfill customer orders.

Attendance and reliability are critical for success in this role. Candidates must have a strong attendance record and be willing to work required overtime to support daily workload, production schedules, and customer order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate both  sit-down and stand-up forklifts
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Safely transport materials between receiving, storage, staging, and shipping areas
• Load, unload, move, stage, and stock materials throughout the warehouse
• Pick and pull customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Regularly get off the forklift to manually retrieve products from pallets, racks, or storage locations
• Accurately pick, stage, and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Verify product counts and ensure order accuracy before shipment
• Build, palletize, and prepare orders for shipment
• Operate pallet wrapping/stretch wrapping equipment as needed
• Utilize RF scanners or warehouse technology to complete inventory and order-picking tasks
• Verify product quantities and inspect materials for damage
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Work overtime when required to meet production and shipping demands

Qualifications

• Recent experience operating both  sit-down and stand-up forklifts
• Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, or order-picking experience
• Comfortable working both on and off the forklift throughout the shift
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment
• Reliable transportation and  excellent attendance record
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Experience operating pallet wrapping/stretch wrapping equipment is preferred but not required
• Forklift certification is preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and reach throughout the workday
• Frequently lift and move products up to 50 pounds
• Ability to repeatedly enter and exit forklifts during the shift
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment for extended periods
• Ability to work overtime as needed
