Correctional Registered Nurse - Coal Township

Job Description Provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and correctional healthcare policies. Perform nursing assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring of acute and chronic medical conditions. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations while maintaining accurate medication administration records. Respond to medical emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and coordinate emergency transport when necessary. Monitor, assess, and document changes in inmate health status, notifying providers of significant findings. Collect specimens, perform diagnostic testing, obtain vital signs, and maintain accurate medical documentation. Assist with intake screenings, chronic care clinics, sick call, discharge planning, and health education. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, correctional officers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care. Maintain patient confidentiality while adhering to all security procedures, facility policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. Perform all duties in accordance with the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act, correctional healthcare standards, and facility policies. Minimum Qualifications: Current, active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum of one (1) year of recent Registered Nurse experience required; correctional, emergency, medical-surgical, behavioral health, or acute care experience preferred. Current BLS certification required. ACLS preferred. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Ability to accurately document assessments, treatments, and inmate health information in an electronic medical record. Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills. Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment while maintaining professionalism and therapeutic communication. Pandologic.
