Locums Emergency Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to provide coverage in a Level III Trauma Center in North Adams, Massachusetts.

Compensation: $350 Per Hour

Position Details

Trauma Level: III
ED Volume: Approximately 55,000 visits annually
Hospital Beds: 32
EMR: Meditech
Shifts: 12-hour, 11-hour, and 8-hour shifts available
Night Shifts: 7:00 PM-7:00 AM; additional shifts may include 1:00 PM-9:00 PM and 3:00 PM-11:00 PM
Weekend Coverage: Required
Call: None
APP Support: Yes
Approximately 30% of ED patients are admitted
Hospitalist/admitting service handles admissions
ED physicians are not responsible for codes
Deliveries are sent directly to Labor & Delivery
ED physicians supervise/monitor paramedic and ambulance activity by radio

Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department
Manage a broad range of acute and emergent conditions
Perform appropriate emergency medicine procedures
Coordinate care with hospitalists, consultants, and other clinical staff
Stabilize and transfer patients when clinically indicated
Provide radio medical direction to paramedics/ambulance personnel
Complete timely and accurate medical documentation

Requirements

Active Massachusetts medical license required; MA-licensed providers will receive priority
ABEM Board Certified or Board Eligible within 5 years of residency
BLS, ACLS, and ATLS required
