Associate Vice President, Facilities and Operations

Job Description

Harford Community College is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Associate Vice President for Facilities & Operations , a key member of the President's Cabinet. This executive leadership role oversees the planning, development, and operation of the College’s physical infrastructure and support services, helping to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming campus environment.

• Facilities Maintenance

• Capital Projects and Construction
\n
• Campus Master Planning
\n
• Event Management
\n
• Dining Services
\n
• Housekeeping
\n
• Distribution Services
\n
• Grounds Maintenance
\n
• Real Estate Management
\n

\n

\n

The AVP is responsible for managing capital and operating budgets, coordinating design and construction initiatives, overseeing departmental operations, negotiating contracts, and serving as a liaison with state and local government agencies.

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a related field
\n
• Seven or more years of progressive experience leading facilities, construction, operations, or related services, preferably in higher education or the public sector
\n
• Five or more years of supervisory experience, including staff development, performance management, and hiring
\n
• Valid driver's license
\n

This is an exempt administrative position with an annually reviewed contract.

Residency Requirement: Employees must reside in Maryland or a contiguous state (Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia). Candidates currently living elsewhere must be willing to relocate.

\n
