Tri-Development Center Job Description Training Supervisor II / Vocational Services Qualifications Must possess a high school diploma or GED with two years’ experience in working with adults with developmental disabilities. Must be supported by three (3) or more written references from responsible individuals. Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record, as determined by Board policy, and a car for use on the job. Primary Function Supervises overall day-to-day operation of assigned Supported Employment contract worksites. Specific Responsibilities Responsibilities Related to Day Program Operation Provides initial on-the-job training to Work Crew Supervisors and Provides direct supervision of Work Crew Supervisors as Schedules leave for staff within designated work areas and arranges for substitutes with the approval of the Supported Employment Assistant/Coordinator. Assists with hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary action of assigned staff with the approval of the Supported Employment Assistant, Supported Employment Coordinator, Assistant Director of Vocational Services, Director of Vocational Services, and the Executive Director. Respond and intervene with behavioral Works with assigned Work Crew Supervisors in the development of essential skills including soliciting/honoring choice, use of prompts, implementation of written objects and Behavior Support Plans, documentation, and quality assurance of contracted work. Model desired work skills as listed Ensures compliance with all SCDDSN, DHEC, and other government agency regulations/standards pertaining to the area of responsibility. Documents daily work performance and training of individuals being supported. Under the direction of the immediate supervisor and therapists, assists with therapies for persons being supported as prescribed. Serves as a member of the Interdisciplinary team for supported individuals within assigned work area and attends all pertinent meetings related to their Support Plans and/or Behavior Support Plans. Transports workers, in personal car, or in agency vehicle or other available means to and from day program, to and from work sites, and/or any other Program related event. Schedules work Handles customer complaints. Inventories supplies and equipment as needed and coordinates with Work Crew Supervisors and Supported Employment Assistant/Coordinator. Assists in developing training goals and objectives for each assigned individual according to his/her job Ensures that all work performed at worksites under supervision meets Assists individuals in becoming integrated into the workforce of the company in which work is being performed to whatever extent possible. Coordinates with customers to ensure accomplishments or work tasks to Responsibilities Related to Individuals Receiving Supports Focuses on the person and demonstrates an understanding that his/her role in delivering supports requires flexibility, creativity, and commitment. Assists individuals receiving supports in understanding their options and the consequences of these options as they relate to their health and emotional well Solicits and honors the choices and preferences of those receiving Understands, respects, and protects the confidentiality and privacy of individuals receiving Assists the people supported to develop and maintain Interacts with people in a respectful Honors the personality, preferences, culture, and gifts of people who cannot speak by utilizing other ways of understanding them. Assists individuals in the pursuit of lifelong learning and Develops relationships with those receiving supports that are respectful, based on mutual trust and that maintain professional boundaries. Is attentive to the health, safety, and emotional well-being of individuals served and works with the individual and his/her support network to identify areas of risk and to create safeguards specific to these concerns. Is vigilant in identifying and reporting any situation in which individuals supported by the agency are at risk of or are suspected of having encountered abuse, neglect, exploitation, or Consistently addresses challenging behaviors proactively, respectfully, and by avoiding the use of aversive or deprivation intervention techniques. Where these techniques are included in an approved support plan ensures that implementation is as specified, works to find alternatives and advocates for the eventual elimination of these techniques from the person’s plan. General Responsibilities Relationships and Contact with Others Conducts self in a manner that serves as a positive role model to other staff, individuals receiving services, their families, volunteers, businesses, other agencies and the public. Develops and maintains a cooperative working relationship with all Tri-Development Center personnel as well as with the public, other agencies, and businesses. Schedule and Time Management Will be expected to work a full-time position. Hours will primarily fall between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Sunday- Flexibility before and after duty and weekend hours may be required and will depend on schedule demands. Will effectively complete all assignments in a timely Will ensure that assigned Work Crew Supervisors utilize their time in a productive manner throughout the workday. Communication Will prepare daily and monthly documentation as Communicated in manner that is easily understood, concise, and Policies and Procedures Will adhere to Tri-Development Center Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Policy manual. Will follow the provisions of all memorandums, directives, and applicable manuals. Will follow all policies and laws pertaining to client Safety Follows agency safety policies and Monitors self, co-workers, and persons being supported to ensure safe conditions are present and safety practices are observed. Reports safety concerns to supervisor in a timely Will complete other duties as Supervisor The direct supervisor of the Training Supervisor II shall be the Supported Employment Assistant. Meetings will be held as necessary with the Supported Employment Assistant/Supported Employment Coordinator. The Training Supervisor II shall be responsible for keeping his/her supervisor informed of any problems related to performing his/her duties and/or complying with the standards and policies under which the agency operates. Typical Physical Demands The Training Supervisor II must have the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Activities include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, driving, making and transferring phone calls and taking messages, completing paperwork/reports, and possibly physical intervention with upset, combative, and/or psychotic individuals. He/She is subject to lifting, carrying, and restraining individuals, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions He/she must be willing to accept other positions temporarily, when necessary. He/she may be subject to falls. infectious diseases, odors, noises, and physical injury due to behavior intervention. This position will be considered non-exempt for purposes of determining overtime compensation.
