We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join a growing team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing administrative support with hands-on accounting tasks in a steady, organized office environment. The role will focus heavily on accounts payable activities while also supporting day-to-day office operations and responding to internal and external questions as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Process incoming vendor invoices accurately and support the day-to-day accounts payable workload.

• Review billing documents, enter invoice details into records, and help maintain organized payment documentation.

• Respond to questions related to invoices, payments, and supporting paperwork in a courteous and timely manner.

• Prepare and provide copies of invoices and related financial documents when requested.

• Maintain orderly paper filing systems to ensure accounting and administrative records are easy to retrieve.

• Assist with office administrative duties, including monitoring and replenishing office supply inventory.

• Collaborate with the controller and finance support staff during training and while learning internal procedures.

• Previous experience supporting accounts payable or handling invoice entry in an office setting.

• Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage routine tasks accurately and consistently.

• Comfortable answering inquiries and communicating clearly with coworkers, vendors, or other contacts.

• Ability to organize and maintain paper files and financial documentation with attention to detail.

• Basic accounting knowledge combined with confidence in handling clerical and finance-related responsibilities.

• Reliable time management skills and the ability to work effectively during scheduled weekday morning hours.
