Head of Strategic Finance – Technology, Global Business Services & Enterprise Allocations Location: New York, NY, Boston, MA, or Springfield, MA Work Arrangement: Hybrid About the Role A leading financial services organization is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee strategic finance activities supporting Enterprise Technology, Global Business Services, and Enterprise Expense Allocations. This is a high-impact leadership position partnering closely with senior executives and corporate finance teams to provide strategic analysis, financial insights, forecasting, and decision support. The role will also lead initiatives focused on improving expense transparency, financial performance, cost allocation, and the modernization of finance processes. The successful candidate will combine strong financial expertise with technology understanding, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a complex organization. Key Responsibilities Serve as the senior finance partner to technology and global business services leadership. Lead teams responsible for financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and strategic decision support. Partner with senior leaders on strategic plans, business cases, investment decisions, and efficiency initiatives. Lead quarterly reviews of spending versus plan and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop and enhance financial reporting, dashboards, analytics, and management insights. Oversee forecasting across material P&L and balance sheet areas, ensuring assumptions are clearly documented and aligned with business leadership. Improve transparency around technology and service-related expenses, including cost drivers, allocations, and unit economics. Lead enterprise expense allocation and P&L analytics activities, including variance analysis, unit cost analysis, capital budgeting, and expense benchmarking. Support annual budgeting, expense targets, and business‑unit and product‑level P&L analysis. Partner with Strategic Planning, Procurement, PMO, and other corporate functions to improve financial visibility and execution. Strengthen connections between business drivers, spending, portfolio execution, and realized benefits. Evaluate procurement opportunities and strategic trade‑offs to improve cost performance. Support modernization of finance processes through automation, advanced analytics, improved data flows, and self‑service reporting. Lead cross‑functional teams through complex transformation initiatives and organizational change. Develop and mentor high‑performing finance talent and future leaders. Communicate complex financial information clearly to senior executives and business stakeholders. What We're Looking For 15+ years of experience working across financial aspects of large, complex technology organizations, digital transformation, and/or data strategy environments. Experience within financial services or another highly regulated industry is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of financial planning, forecasting, expense management, cost allocation, and strategic finance. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP; insurance regulatory reporting experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead cross‑functional teams toward shared objectives. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate large and complex datasets into actionable business insights. Experience with strategic planning, activity‑based costing, zero‑based budgeting, and advanced forecasting methodologies. Proven experience leading finance transformation and process improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of technology organizations, technology investment, digital transformation, and technology risk. Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and deliver under pressure. Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and decision‑making capabilities. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree or MBA in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. CPA or equivalent professional qualification. Experience implementing automated reporting, advanced analytics, and data‑driven finance solutions. Experience with insurance or permanent life insurance finance. Experience leading large‑scale finance transformation programs. Strong understanding of cost‑benefit analysis, portfolio economics, and benefits realization.
