Job Title: Mainframe DB2/IMS System Programmer Experience: 12+ Years Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Mainframe DB2/IMS System Programmer with strong expertise in IBM z/OS environments, DB2 and IMS database administration at the system-programming level, ISV product installation, upgrades, maintenance, and production support. Key Responsibilities Install and upgrade DB2 and IMS versions and apply required maintenance. Configure DB2 and IMS subsystem parameters to optimize performance. Utilize DB2 and IMS tools to monitor database health and application objects. Implement DB2 and IMS security controls and collaborate with DBAs to manage application access. Perform SOX audits on database objects to ensure compliance. Coordinate with application and system teams to implement database enhancements. Lead service restoration for issues related to DB2 and associated software products. Drive continuous improvement in operational resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity using measurable KPIs. Automate tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Maintain baseline operations for DB2 test and production environments. Proactively identify and resolve system issues. Participate in disaster recovery exercises supporting enterprise system recovery and business continuity. Mandatory Skills 12+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe System Programmer in z/OS and ISV environments. Expertise in SMP/E and non-SMP/E installation of ISV products . Expertise in IBM and Broadcom software product installation and upgrades . Strong expertise in DB2 and IMS database management and utilities . Experience with DB2 V12 or later upgrades . Experience with IMS V15.5 or later upgrades . Strong knowledge of JCL and IBM utilities , including: IEBGENER IEBCOPY AMASPZAP DFDSS Strong knowledge of ISPF/TSO . Basic knowledge of REXX/CLIST . Experience designing project plans for upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning. Ability to define stakeholder task lists and communicate project timelines.
