Senior Project Manager

About the Company : A successful manufacturing and glass installation company has an excellent opportunity for a skilled Project Manager who is goal-oriented and self-motivated.

About the Role : This position will perform take-offs from drawings, generate submittals, create project folders for field turnover, work with engineering and fabrication departments, and coordinate installation. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, proven ability to work independently, possess excellent time management skills and a hands-on ability to function as a part of the team.

Responsibilities :

• Generate new and/or build upon established local general contractor relationships.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
• Supervise other personnel assigned within the production department to ensure assigned contracted works is produced in a timely fashion, in accordance with our contracts, company policies and procedures and with an end result for the department of a positive gross profit.
• Manage budgets throughout the project process from material procurement, logistics planning, to personnel planning while maintaining an efficient schedule to deliver a complete project scope on time.
• Coordinate layout and manufacturing of the required glass and aluminum systems with project staff.
• Release and track procurements of materials.
• Prepare and submit change orders.
• Project Accounting Functions, including preparing monthly requisitions for work performed.
• Analyze completed project for timeliness, quality, and budget vs cost.
• Effectively communicate with the prime general contractor management team to ensure delivery of project scope on time and per specification. This includes preparing submittal packages, shop drawing packages, communicating lead times, scheduling material procurement and purchasing, scheduling adequate labor forces, coordinating project punch-out, preparing project warranties and closeout documentation.
• Regular communication with clients, architects, owners, subcontractors, suppliers including job site visits, face to face meetings and written and oral communication.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in construction, design, or engineering related program is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in project management of commercial building projects required.
• 5 years+ of experience in the glass and glazing industry preferred (with emphasis on interior glazing, curtainwall, storefront, entrances, canopies, handrail, skylights).
• Proficient at understanding and translating construction plans, drawings and specifications and generating accurate take-offs and estimates.
• Ability to manage project and field installation, procurement, RFI’s, project managing documentation including close-outs and punch out; compile estimates for value engineering; negotiate pricing with vendor/subcontractors.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, and ProCore.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and understand English and numerals sufficiently to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to speak and write English sufficiently to communicate in a clear, understandable manner.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Able to work with all levels of staff.
• Ability to negotiate in a fair, firm, and friendly manner.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Pay range and compensation package : This is a full-time, exempt salary position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00. Our current benefits package includes:
