Position Summary

Systems Enginuity, Inc. (SEI) is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support FAA aviation safety research, data analytics, and software development activities. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams of software developers, data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and aviation safety specialist supporting analytical tools and capabilities designed to improve safety across the National Airspace System (NAS).

This position combines hands-on technical leadership with project management and coordination of project execution. The Technical Project Manager with work with SEI and FAA technical leads to translate research objectives and customer requirements into defined technical approaches, development tasks, deliverables, schedules, and measurable outcomes. The successful candidate will possess sufficient software development, data engineering or analytical experience to meaningful evaluate technical approaches, review development work products and guide multidisciplinary teams toward effective solutions while ensuring that project activities area competed on schedule and meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Translate research objectives, technical requirements, and customer priorities into executable technical approaches, project plans, work packages, milestones and deliverables.
\n
• Break down technical work into actionable development tasks, epics, user stories, and tickets with defined priorities, assignments, dependencies, technical expectations, and acceptance criteria.
\n
• Develop and maintain project schedules and task backlogs using Jira, Confluence or comparable tools.
\n
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of developers, data scientist, and aviation safety researchers to support timely execution of project objectives.
\n
• Work with individual contributors to evaluate proposed technical approaches, establish realistic task estimates, prioritize activities, resolve dependencies and assess whether completed work products satisfy technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
\n
• Review software, data-processing, and analytical work products, including code, technical designs, test results, and documentation, to assess implementation quality, completeness, and alignment with project objectives.
\n
• Monitor project progress, schedules, resource needs, risks and issues; identify potential impacts and coordinate corrective actions.
\n
• Prepare and contribute to monthly status reports, project management reviews, technical briefings, and other customer deliverables.
\n
• Facilitate project planning, technical coordination, and status meetings with internal teams and customer stakeholders.
\n
• Support SEI program leadership with resource planning, schedule forecasting, and continuous improvement of the project execution processes.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field.
\n
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including hands-on technical experience in software development, data engineering, systems engineering, data analytics, or related technical disciplines, and demonstrated experience leading technical teams or development efforts.
\n
• Demonstrated technical proficiency sufficient to evaluate software, data processing, or analytical approaches; review technical designs, code, and test results; and provide meaningful technical direction to multidisciplinary development teams.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary technical teams and manage project schedules, priorities, and deliverables.
\n
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, or comparable project management tools.
\n
• Familiarity with software development lifecycles, agile or hybrid development approaches, and technical project execution.
\n
• Working knowledge of software development practices, programming concepts, databases, data-processing workflows, and technical testing and validation methods; experience with Python, SQL, or comparable technologies strongly preferred.
\n
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, including preparation of project reports and customer briefings.

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Strongly prefer experience supporting the FAA, National Airspace System, air traffic operations, aviation safety, or related aviation research.
\n
• Prior hands-on experience developing software applications, data-processing pipelines, analytical models, or technical systems, followed by progressively responsible technical team leadership or project management roles.
\n
• Experience supporting government customers, including monthly status reporting, project reviews, and technical deliverables.
\n
• Familiarity with enterprise data and analytics platforms, such as Palantir Foundry, Databricks, or comparable technologies.

Eligibility Requirement

Due to the requirements of the FAA contract supporting this position, applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and eligible to satisfy applicable U.S. Federal Government suitability and security requirements. SEI is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates working under or requiring temporary employment authorization, including F-1 CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT, are not eligible.

Candidates who receive and accept an offer of employment with SEI must successfully complete the applicable U.S. Federal Government Public Trust process, which includes fingerprinting, a government-conducted background investigation, and other screening
