Make a meaningful difference supporting high school students in a life skills classroom setting! This contract opportunity is available immediately, running through late May 2027. You'll work Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 2:30 PM, for up to 37.5 hours each week. The role is based near New Oxford, PA, within a dynamic classroom—but is not a 1:1 assignment, allowing you to help a whole group of students develop essential skills.
Ideal candidates bring a passion for education and experience working in school environments. As a paraprofessional in this important role, you will:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of one year as a paraprofessional, preferably within a school context
- Either already possess a paraprofessional certification, at least 48 college credits, or an associate’s degree (or higher)
- If you do not currently meet certification or education requirements, a willingness to complete paraprofessional certification within 60 days of hire is necessary
- Reliable and punctual, with strong communication and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with diverse learning needs in a high school life skills classroom
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering lessons and implementing classroom activities
- Help maintain an inclusive, structured, and safe learning environment
- Provide encouragement and facilitate student independence
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success
