About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years License: Nursing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role: ACLS BLS NIHSS Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The unit has 44 beds and a staffing of 95. The day shift consists of 2 Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 Health Unit Coordinator. The night shift consists of 2 Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 Health Unit Coordinator. Patient ratios are 4:1 on the grid and 5:1 when stretched. Equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and patient lifts. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Typical procedures performed on the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump use, IV infusions, lumbar drain placement, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate is a team player and patient-focused. Floating may occur to stepdown and medical-surgical units. Every other weekend work is required. This position is a contractor replacement.
