Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2+ years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Stepdown or progressive care experience Telemetry experience Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, bumetanide/Lasix Description: The unit has 40 beds. Day shift staff includes 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 Patient Care Technicians, and 1 Unit Secretary. Night shift staff includes 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are 1:4, with stretch staffing at a 1:5 ratio. The type of patients cared for includes those with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post cardiac catheterization/stent, pacemaker, ICD, or ablation. The equipment utilized includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and an EMR system. Candidates must be flexible, have a positive attitude, be great team players, and demonstrate compassion. Experience with prostacyclins is preferred. Typical procedures performed include bedside cardioversion. Floating may occur to all MedSurg units, stepdown units, COVID units, and emergency room holding. Dress code requires all white, all navy blue, or a white top with navy blue pants. Weekend work is required every other weekend.
