Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 – 07:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Prior cardiovascular critical care experience required. Description: This position involves caring for patients in a progressive care unit. The primary patient population includes those recovering from cardiovascular and vascular surgeries. Typical surgeries include open-heart procedures and various thoracic and vascular surgeries. The unit also cares for overflow medical cardiology patients. Patient ratios are 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for patient care technicians. Key skills sought include telemetry and stepdown unit experience. Preferred candidates will have experience with cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients. The work environment is fast-paced, and being a team player is essential. Flexibility in scheduling is important, including a minimum commitment to weekend shifts.
