About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: 2+ years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must have experience in Neuro and Trauma Care. Description: The Progressive Care Unit consists of 44 beds. The unit is staffed by 95 personnel. There are 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC on both day and night shifts. Patient ratios are 4 patients to 1 nurse at grid and 5 to 1 when stretched. Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. The EMR system utilized is Cerner. Key skills required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates must have Neuro and Trauma Care experience. Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO brace application, chest tube management, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drain care, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidate will be a team player and patient-focused. Every other weekend commitment is expected. Candidates should be open to floating to stepdown and med-surg units. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Unit policies and guidelines will be provided upon hire.
